Along these lines, they insist Eretz Yisrael belongs to them.
Furthermore, they indoctrinate generation after generation with the accusation that the Jews came and "stole" the land from the Arabs.
Recently, an Israeli Jew made a short video in Hebrew (including maps) after researching the origins of the biggest Arab clans in Israel.
These are the results...
Note: Because Arabic contains syllables non-existent in English, the English spellings of these names vary. For example, Musa can also be spelled Mousa, Moussa, etc. The consonants K, G, and Q also prove interchangeable in English transliteration — which is why you've seen Muamar Kaddafi's surname spelled also Gaddafi and Qaddafi (among other variants). So please keep in mind the different variants of spellings you may have seen with these names and their cities of origin in English transliteration.
Zoabi
Yet the Zoabi clan originated in Iraq.
Within Eretz Yisrael, this clan currently dwells in the northern area.
Agbaria
Some claim this as the most common Arab surname is Eretz Israel, while one list ranked it as the 9th most common surname.
Either way, many Arabs carry some variant of this surname.
Anyway, the Agbaria clan originates from an area called — surprise! — Agbar, which sits on what is today the border of Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Most likely because of inter-clan squabbles, the Agbaria clan migrated from Agbar, making its way throughout Saudi Arabia to Jordan, then Shechem, until it finally came to roost in Um al Fahm, not far from Afula.
They named their new neighborhood after themselves (Al-Arbaria) and the Agbaria/Al-Arbaria clan includes families with the surnames of Musa, Bashir, Muhammad, and Chalifah.
So if you meet Arabs living in Eretz Yisrael with any of these surnames, please know they originate from very far away and have no right to claim their land was usurped, invaded, or conquered.
As far as Eretz Yisrael goes, they aren't native, indigenous, ancient, "since time immemorial" or any other term used to describe their origins.
They are indigenous to Arabia.
Masarwa
The Masarwa clan originated in Egypt.
In fact, one source claims the name Masarwa means "Egyptians" in Arabic.
The Arabic name for Egypt is pronounced "Masr" or "Misr."
(Indeed, one way to pluralize a word in Arabic is to add an "ah" sound.)
They migrated from Egypt to roost in Eretz Yisrael in cities now called Taiba (located southeast of Netanya; where the majority lives), plus Tira, Baka, Garbia, Kfar Kara, Um al Faham, Arara, Wadi Ara, and Arara.
(If it didn't cause so much terror and bloodshed, it would be funny to hear people with the surname "Egyptians" claiming members of Am Yisrael "stole" their land in Eretz Yisrael. Sort of like a guy named Deutsch — "German" — living in Arizona and claiming the local Navajo tribe invaded and conquered his land, stealing his land from him.)
Mahajna
The Mahajna clan originated in the village of — get this — Mahajan in Syria.
That's right. They dwelt in Mahajan, Syria, until they arrived in Israel only 300 years ago — yes, way long after Jewish settlement and amid thriving Jewish communities already established.
300 years ago places their arrival in the 1700s, when we know thriving Jewish communities existed in Eretz Yisrael.
To provide some context, Rav Yosef Caro, author of the Shulchan Aruch, reached his scholastic zenith in Tzfat during Eretz Yisrael's early 1500s.
The Arizal's vibrant community thrived in Tsfat during the 1500s — a couple of centuries prior to the arrival of the Mahajna clan.
In the 1600s, well before the arrival of the Mahajna clan, established Jewish populations existed in Yerushalayim, Nablus/Shechem, Chevron/Hebron, Tzfat, and the Galilee (Northern Israel).
Chassidic communities also blossomed in Tiveria and Tzfat during the 1700s.
The Ohr HaChaim lived in Yerushalayim during the 1700s, with his successful yeshivah and synagogue.
In fact, Jews comprised 25-30% of Yerushalayim's population during the 1700 — despite serious deprivation under the Turkish Ottoman Empire in control at that time.
So who wandered in and squatted on land not their own?
An infamous member of the Mahajna clan, Raed Salah, terrorist leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement (a partner with Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas), always tantrums about how the Jews conquered and took land away from his people.
Someone needs to tell that blood-thirsty usurper to get back to Syria.
As Always, The Truth Stands on the Side of Am Yisrael
And as often stated on this blog, you can use this information to provide counter-arguments to the hate-filled and the ignorant...or not.
The main things is for YOU to know.
In both your heart and mind, you needn't entertain any doubts about whether these meandering, squabbling Arabian clans hold any claim to land in Eretz Yisrael.
Certainly, they lack any religious claim, as clearly stated in the Torah:
God gave Eretz Yisrael to Am Yisrael.
But the above proves they lack any historical, geographical, or ancestral claim to any land in Eretz Yisrael too.
Don't be fooled.
