I admit I no longer search for the disturbing details about the events.
And I no longer look to see what different political leaders say about it.
By now, I know the response from various sectors never differ.
The only thing that really matters are the calls for teshuvah and inner scrutiny, each person according to one's individual level and unique character traits and tikkunim.
So that's what I do, although it's more like stumbling along a never-ending rock-strewn path rather than a big burst of teshuvah.
I very much wish the great backsliding among the Jews in Eretz Yisrael never had happened. It's heart-breaking and most people don't even realize how bad and warped it really is.
Just like with the Golden Calf, the Erev Rav within Eretz Yisrael led good Jews into dancing around a false ideal and engaging in illicit behaviors.
May we all succeed in separating from the Erev Rav (including the Erev Rav sparks within ourselves) and may Hashem please bring the final Geula quickly with tremendous rachamim.
